It is cast from 18-karat gold-plated silver and strung with a dainty cross pendant embellished with 1.80-carats iolite, known as the stone of vision.

18k Gold Over Sterling Silver (1-2 micron thickness), Iolite( 1.80 carats).
An additional layer of palladium plating is added to protect gold from oxidation.
