Consisting in creating a delicate twisted ribbon from silver or gold, the cordellina technique was already largely used by Roman goldsmiths back in the I century BC. 18k Yellow Gold Over Sterling Silver (1 Micron thickness). An additional layer of palladium plating is applied to protect gold from natural oxidation of silver.
